Area Business Councils

Purpose:
Area Business Councils ensure the Chamber's ability to address the localized opportunities and challenges unique to each part of our county.  Each area business council has an elected board and general membership made up exclusively of Chamber members with a professional or general interest in a particular geographically defined area (such as Historic St. Augustine, South Beaches, Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, US 1/SR 312 Corridor).  Through regularly scheduled meetings, each council ensures that Chamber member businesses have a voice in matters involving governmental policies and legislation, special event planning, public works and infrastructure, or any other area that may impact their ability to successfully conduct business.

Historic St. Augustine Area Council
The Historic St. Augustine Area Council meets monthly to address issues within the historic district such as historic preservation, tourism, and business growth.

Northeast Business Council
The Northeast Business Council's goal is to focus on economic development issues and acts as a liaison with the county government and staff.  Through a partnership with a regional Chamber of Commerce, the council works to provide its members networking opportunities and educational programs.

Northwest Business Council
The Northwest Business Council strives to create a presence for the growing Northwest area and increase their visibility throughout other areas of the county.

South Beaches Business Council

The Southwest Business Council is growing and building an identity in the Hastings area, including Elkton, Spuds and Vermont Heights. They are active in the building, development and revitalization of the area.

US 1/SR 312 Business Council
The US 1/SR 312 Business Council is the newest of the councils. It was formed to give members along the US 1/SR 312 corridor a louder voice with the Chamber and community and tackle issues unique to that area.
