April 12 will bring another very timely and extremely relevant topic for our Historic St. Augustine Area Council businesses- City of St. Augustine Commissioner Nancy Sikes-Kline and Chief of Police Barry Fox are teaming up to speak to us on an initiative they’ve spearheaded to address increased complaints in our downtown business district, particularly during late nights, with a focus on protecting the city’s quality of life and friendly reputation while also protecting our night-time economy. Both Commissioner Sikes-Kline and Chief Fox recently attended the Sociable Cities Summit where they learned how other cities addressed challenges similar to those we’re seeing, ensuring a safe and healthy area with a vibrant downtown economy. Input from our business community is vital and will help drive the focus and outcomes of this initiative… Anytime we feature a City Commissioner and the Police Chief, you know the meeting is important!
