Meet Adam Shockey, Tourism & Hospitality Council President
A life-long love of St. Augustine and its history brought Shockey permanently to this area in 2009 after years of international tourism work that took him literally around the globe developing cruise line itineraries and negotiating port contracts. He has worked with and developed tourism projects in many exotic destinations such as Central & South America, Africa, the Mediterranean, French Polynesia & the South Pacific, the Caribbean and many more.
 
Shockey purchased and expanded Tour Saint Augustine Inc., which has served nearly two decades as the area’s leading group Receptive Tour Operator, and subsequently purchased the St. Augustine City Walks company, in addition. He has been locally active in the community serving as Secretary of the Board for the St. Augustine Attractions Association, on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as Vice-Chairman for the TDC’s Arts, Culture & Heritage Funding Panel, a member of the VCB’s Leisure Sales Committee, President & Treasurer of Salt Run Condo Association, and also worked in the development of other local private companies and organizations.

SJC Chamber Tourism & Hospitality Council
The goal of the new Chamber Tourism & Hospitality Council is to further enhance the abilities of our St. Johns County tourism businesses to provide first-class service to their visitors. The council aims to achieve this by being a resource for industry-specific training and educational opportunities.

Meetings: The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Tourism & Hospitaltiy Council meets the first Wednesday of each month (click for calendar). The meetings feature guest speakers presenting relevant information to you and your business.
