The
St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce's Economic Development Team is
proud to announce that the Montgomery Land Company is planning to
complete a development by the name of "Silver Creek" which will employ
approximately 190 full-time health care sector workers including
physicians, physical and occupational therapists, administrators and
skilled nurses. The project was brought before the St. Johns County
Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday and received unanimous support.
County Administrator Michael Wanchick and Assistant County
Administrator Darryl Locklear played key roles in negotiating the
incentive agreement.
The project was incentivized with $619,862 in impact and fee
rebates reimbursable over a five year period. Upon completion,
the completed campus will pay an estimated $440,000 in ad valorem taxes
annually.
The
facility represents $31.5 million in new private capital investment.
Will produce a positive economic impact and a wide range
of long-term employment opportunities. The facility is expected to begin
construction in January 2012. The proposed facility is a two-phased
senior care campus which
will include an array of independent, assisted, memory-care units and
onsite medical offices. In addition to the employees needed to plan and
construct infrastructure, buildings, finish the interiors and external
landscaping, ongoing operations will also produce economic activity as a
variety of ongoing suppliers and services providers will be needed.
