On Wednesday, December 7, the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce (SJCCC) recognized Herbie Wiles Insurance with a Chamber Resolution on their 50-year anniversary thanking them for their service and outstanding business practices.
In 1961, Herbert L. Wiles founded Herbie Wiles Insurance in a small office on Cordova Street and has served St. Augustine, St. Johns County and beyond ever since.
“Now, therefore be it resolved, the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce recognizes, congratulates and wishes continued success to Herbie Wiles Insurance and all those who work to make it an example for businesses in St. Johns County,” states the resolution approved by the SJCCC Board of Directors and signed by the Chamber President, Kirk Wendland, and the Board Chairman, Rob Matthews.
The insurance company joined the Chamber in 1962, shortly after it was founded, and has remained a member without interruption. “It is great to have a business like Herbie Wiles here. They are successful, loyal to the community and they provide excellent service. They are exactly the kind of business everyone should want in their town,” said Wendland.
After starting in the Cordova Street office with a staff of two, Herbie Wiles Insurance moved to its current location in 1966. After renovations and expansion the company now employs 32 people and serves more than 8,500 accounts.

WHEREAS, Herbie Wiles Insurance has been a member of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce for nearly 50 years without interruption,
WHEREAS, Herbie Wiles Insurance has provided honest and excellent service to the citizens of St. Johns County for a period of 50 years.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THE ST. JOHNS COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOGNIZES, CONGRATULATES AND WISHES CONTINUED SUCCESS TO HERBIE WILES INSURANCE AND ALL THOSE WHO WORK TO MAKE IT AN EXAMPLE FOR BUSINESSES IN ST. JOHNS COUNTY.
