On December 13, the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce’s Northwest Business Council (NWBC) hosted the 23rd annual Christmas party for adult clients of The Arc of St. Augustine, which serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Over 50 attended the event at Westminster Woods at Julington Creek, where each year the Council receives a wish list of presents from around 30 Arc clients. This holiday season, Rhonda Hammell, NWBC member and employee of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, contacted members of the Council and the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors to help buy gifts for everyone.
The night, always made festive by Santa Claus calling out names and giving out gifts, was made exceptional by the appearance of Mrs. Claus who came to help this year.
“This is something the Council looks forward to each year,” Tracey Phillips, president of the NWBC and the owner of Promotional Presence LLC, said. “This is the only Christmas that some of these clients have. Over the years, we have gotten to know these men and women and we enjoy seeing how much this party means to them.”
The St. Johns County Northwest Business Council strives to create a presence for the growing Northwest area and increase business visibility throughout all areas of the county.
