SJR State President continues leadership roles in 2012

College and career readiness continues to be a priority for Joe Pickens, J.D., in 2012. The St. Johns River State College President was recently reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to serve on the Board for the Southern Regional Education Board. SREB isa nonprofit organization that works collaboratively with Florida and 15 other member states to improve pre-K-12 and higher education.

Pickens will also continue his service as Chair of the Florida Council of Presidents Policy and Advocacy Committeeand as Florida’s postsecondary voice for the Advisory Committee on College Readiness (ACCR), where he will represent higher education concerns and play a role in developing new K-12 assessments.
